Sudden Coffee is made like no other instant coffee in the world.
Regular instant coffee was designed to be as cheap as possible. It is made with leftover commodity coffee beans, it is brewed at extra high temperatures to dissolve as much of the bean as possible, the grounds are brewed twice to get every last bit, and then it is dried with heat. If you think it tastes woody, it’s because the pulp from the coffee beans make it into the cup.
At Sudden Coffee, our thinking was simple. We just did the opposite, at every step. We focused on quality, not cost. We use single origin 100% arabica coffees, we brew at a low temperature - we want to capture specific taste profiles, and we freeze-dry to lock in the flavor. We created a revolutionary new process to make this all possible. You can read more on this on our blog or website.
Today, the bulk of our cost goes into the coffee beans and process to brew Sudden Coffee. We use ethically sourced single-origin beans combined with a brewing process that pushes for quality (instead of cost savings). It’s also critical to us that our team & suppliers are paid fair wages. That’s the price we need to charge to be able to offer a coffee we’re really proud of.
Our goal with Sudden is to serve you cafe quality coffee without having to drive to/ wait in line at a cafe, grind your own beans/ brew your own coffee, or buy an expensive machine. We put a lot of work into brewing it perfectly, so you don't have to.
